About

I developed TextCrate in my limited spare time while completing my honours degree in mathematics, because I often found myself creating several new text files per day just to make quick notes.

TextCrate is a simple text editor which is located in the macOS menu bar. The editor is shown as a semi-transparent pop-over, and can be detached to float over other applications.

TextCrate is great for taking quick notes, managing your clipboard, removing formatting from text, to-do lists, and anything else you would achieve using sticky notes or a normal text editor.

FAQ

Which versions of macOS are supported?

Theoretically, 10.11 and higher, but I've been unable to test on versions other than the latest. If you notice any issues, let me know and I'll try and fix them as soon as possible, or refund you if you paid.

I feel bad about not paying!

That's not actually a question, but don't feel bad! I made this app because I had a use for it, and I wanted to learn more about macOS development.

Why are the screenshots so low resolution?

TextCrate was developed on a 2013 macbook air and I don't have access to a higher resolution monitor, sorry! :(

Has anyone actually asked ny of these questions?

Nope! :)
